Rebelvolt raises €1.4 million in funding - aiming to replace diesel generators in Europe

When electricity is not available, professional use has traditionally relied on diesel generators – until now. The battery-powered e-Generator developed by Rebelvolt outperforms diesel generators in every aspect: it provides up to 0.5 megawatts of power, emission-free, silent, maintenance-free and affordable, as grid electricity can be up to 10 times cheaper than electricity produced with diesel.

Made in Finland, the Rebelvolt e-Generator offers portable, industrial-grade performance for construction, event and logistics industries, as well as defense and security authorities, for use where electrical power is not available. The e-Generator combines cutting-edge energy technology with durable, arctic-tested design, functionality and reliability.

Towards Europe with the wings of venture investments

Rebelvolt organized a financing round in the summer of 2025, in which the company raised €625,000 in capital from investors. The main investor is Gorilla Capital Fund, other investors include JSM Consulting Oy, Unmanned.vc and Meri Heikkinen.

The capital will be used for go-to-market measures and in particular for internationalization:

- The first steps include growing our own sales network, building a partner network, and increasing our visibility in the Northern and Central European markets and in the rapidly growing defense industry, says Pekka Karppanen, the company's founder and chairman of the board .

In addition, Business Finland granted the company a €840,000 R&D loan. The demand generated and sales achieved during the first year of operation provided certainty about the uniqueness and necessity of the e-Generator, as well as visibility into the product's further development needs. With the loan, Rebelvolt will co-finance the ongoing €1.2 million long-term product development program.

Rebelvolt in brief:

Rebelvolt Oy is a Finnish startup founded in 2023. The mobile e-Generator it has developed brings industrial-scale electrical power to places or situations where there is no electricity. The e-Generator replaces traditional diesel generators and is completely emission-free, odorless and silent. Rebelvolt has several patent applications for the e-Generator.

The company, which won the Pitch Finland DefSec competition organized by FiBAN (Finnish Business Angels Network) in spring 2025, has already orders from three NATO countries. In its first financial year, the company reached a turnover of one million euros and employs 10 people.
